Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

ÉTYMOLOGIE
Le peuple dit échaffourée.— Le fait est qu'il y a dans la langue du XVIe siècle le verbe chaffourer ou chauffourer : Tousjours se vaultroit par les fanges, se chauffouroit le visaige (RAB. Garg. I, 11)— Il ratissoit le papier, chauffouroit le parchemin (RAB. ib.)— Leur retraite mesme est pleine de corruption, l'idée de leur amendement chaffourée (MONT. III, 266)Ce même verbe se trouve avec le préfixe es- :— Je suis bien marry qu'il m'ait fallu apporter cet exemple et le mettre icy, d'autant qu'il est d'une personne privée et de basse condition, pour ce que j'ay deliberé de n'escafourer mon papier de si petites personnes (BRANT. Dames gal. t. II, p. 64, dans LACURNE) Échauffourée vient sans doute de ce verbe ; mais chaufourer d'où vient-il ? Le verbe fourrer paraît bien y être ; quant au préfixe cha- ou chau-, on peut croire que c'est l'adjectif chaud : fourrer dans le chaud, c'est-à-dire dans le feu, de manière pourtant à s'en retirer, à n'y pas périr.
