WordGame

The English word games are:

Lettris

Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

boggle

Boggle gives you 3 minutes to find as many words (3 letters or more) as you can in a grid of 16 letters. You can also try the grid of 16 letters. Letters must be adjacent and longer words score better. See if you can get into the grid Hall of Fame !

クリストファー・ヴワディスワフ・アントニ・スピルマン（Christopher Władysław Antoni Szpilman, 1951年5月4日 - ）はポーランド出身の英国籍の日本近代史家。専門分野は日本近代政治思想史。特に平沼騏一郎や大川周明、北一輝、満川亀太郎など、第一次世界大戦から第二次世界大戦までの右翼思想を研究している。

ピアニストのヴワディスワフ・シュピルマンの長男としてワルシャワに生まれる。18歳でポーランドから英国に亡命。このとき、英国留学中の日本人と親しくなり、柔道の道場に通う。19歳で英国に帰化。1973年、英国のリーズ大学を卒業。

ロンドン市役所勤務を経て来日。1975年から1年間、柔道仲間の出身地である愛媛県川之江町（のちの川之江市、現在の四国中央市）に住む。

日本への関心が高まったため、英国に帰ってからロンドン大学日本学科に入学。1980年、ロンドン大学日本学科を卒業。1985年、米国のイェール大学大学院を修了。1986年に再び来日し、外国人研究生として東京大学法学部政治学科に学ぶ（1989年迄）。

1989年からイェール大学で教壇に立つ。このころ米国で、デューク大学大学院に留学中だった日本人女性の佐藤千登勢と結婚。1994年、夫人を伴って来日。1997年から拓殖大学日本文化研究所の客員教授として拓大百年史の編纂に携わった。

1998年、夫人が西南学院大学助教授となったことに伴い、夫婦で福岡に移住。

2006年現在、九州産業大学の教授を務めている。

柔道初段。日本語で執筆した著書に『シュピルマンの時計』（2003年、小学館）がある。

なお、父の姓と違い「スピルマン」という英語的な表記を日本で通しているのは、英語圏での生活が永かったことによる。
