WordGame

The English word games are:

Lettris

Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

boggle

Boggle gives you 3 minutes to find as many words (3 letters or more) as you can in a grid of 16 letters. You can also try the grid of 16 letters. Letters must be adjacent and longer words score better. See if you can get into the grid Hall of Fame !

翁（おう、おきな）

  • 老人の男性のこと。また以下の意味でも使われる。
    • 他人を呼ぶ時に使うと敬う意味になる。「芭蕉翁」、「竹取の翁（竹取物語）」など。
    • 自身を呼ぶ時に使うとへりくだる意味になる。
  • 明宿集に出てくる猿能の能の世界を司る存在。以下で述べる。

翁（おきな）とは、男性の老人の容姿をしており、人間の目では無意識の状態でのみ姿を見ることが出来る存在。したがって、意識して見ようとすれば見えない存在である。

元来は、「北極星」あるいは「胎児の化身」などと考えられていたが、昭和39年に発見された金春禅竹・著書の「明宿集」によると、翁とは「宿神」つまり、この世とあの世を繋ぐ精霊のようなものと記されている。
