The British Institute of Innkeeping Awarding Body (BIIAB) is the wholly owned awarding body of the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), the professional body for the licensed retail industry.

BIIAB produces the market-leading[citation needed] personal licence holder qualification BIIAB Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) amongst other qualifications of qualifications specifically designed for the licensed hospitality sector.[3]

Being an integral part of the licensed industry, and able to reflect the views of thousands of individual BII members within it, means that BIIAB has its finger firmly on the pulse of industry needs.[citation needed] BIIAB is the industry’s choice for qualifications because all of its qualifications are developed with industry, for industry.

BIIAB develops and regularly updates all of its qualifications by involving key stakeholders such as the police, national and local government, licensed retailers and licensing authorities. This ensures they are absolutely accurate from a legal and practice perspective.[citation needed]

BIIAB is accredited by Ofqual and the Scottish Qualifications Authority. It is the 6th largest vocational qualifications awarding body in the UK. Over 1.5 million BIIAB qualifications have been processed to date.[citation needed]

  Activities

BIIAB produces qualifications in a number of areas including; Licensing, management and security, especially the BIIAB Level 2 Award in Door Supervision, anyone wanting to work as a door supervisor in the UK, needs a licence to practise issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and one of the things you[who?] need to apply for a licence is to have passed a recognised door supervision qualification. The BIIAB Level 2 Award in Door Supervision is designed for those who wish to work in the industry. Endorsed by the SIA and regulated by Ofqual

Lettris

Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

boggle

Boggle gives you 3 minutes to find as many words (3 letters or more) as you can in a grid of 16 letters. You can also try the grid of 16 letters. Letters must be adjacent and longer words score better. See if you can get into the grid Hall of Fame !
