Cannock Chase High School

Cannock Chase High School is a comprehensive school in Cannock, Staffordshire. It was founded in 1986 after the merger of two schools, Chenet (the local grammar school, later comprehensive) and Sherbrook.
Academics
The school has been awarded specialist Science College status. The school has recently successfully reapplied for Specialist Science Status and has been granted the status again for a further five years, allowing them have a grant of £1 million over the period. Today, the school is the biggest in the area and has consistently improved its average SAT, GCSE and A-level results over the past decade. It has 1600 pupils and a staff of over 200. Nick Hooper became the headteacher after Darryl Knight in 2002. After Nick Hooper's retirement in June 2009, Barrie Scott took over as headteacher from September 2009. Prior to this, Mr Scott was headteacher of Granville Community School in South Derbyshire.
