The English word games are:

Lettris

Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

Boggle gives you 3 minutes to find as many words (3 letters or more) as you can in a grid of 16 letters. You can also try the grid of 16 letters. Letters must be adjacent and longer words score better. See if you can get into the grid Hall of Fame !

Das Handwörterbuch der Naturwissenschaften ist ein Handwörterbuch in 10 Bänden, das in zwei Auflagen im Gustav Fischer Verlag erschienen ist. Es wurde von Gustav Fischer senior (†1910) begründet.

Inhaltsverzeichnis

Die 1. Auflage des Lexikons wurde von Eugen Korschelt (Zoologie), Gottlob Eduard Linck (Mineralogie und Geologie), Friedrich Oltmanns (Botanik), Karl Schaum (Chemie), Hermann Theodor Simon (Physik), Max Verworn (Physiologie) und Ernst Teichmann (Hauptredaktion) herausgegeben. Die 1. Auflage hat ca. 10.000 Seiten.

Die Herausgeber der 2. Auflage waren Rudolf Dittler, Georg Joos, Eugen Korschelt, Gottlob Eduard Linck, Friedrich Oltmanns und Karl Schaum. Die 2. Auflage enthält - alphabetisch geordnet - Artikel über Biologie (Allgemeine Biologie, Botanik, Zoologie), Physiologie (Allgemeine, vegetative, animale Physiologie), Kristallographie, Mineralogie, Petrographie, Geologie, Chemie (Allgemeine, physikalische, anorganische, organische Chemie) und Physik (Hilfsmittel, allgemeine Grundlagen, Aufbau der Materie, Mechanik, Akustik, Elektrizitätslehre, Magnetismus, Optik, Geophysik, Thermodynamik, Statistik). Es sind insgesamt 686 Biographien enthalten. Die 2. Auflage hat ca. 11.000 Seiten und 10.000 Abbildungen.

Zu den ungefähr 400 Autoren gehören u.a. Ernst Bresslau, Ludwig Plate und Peter Pringsheim.

Die 1. Auflage ist digitalisiert worden und im Internet verfügbar (siehe weblink).
