Csongrád [ˈʧonɡraːd] ist ein Komitat (Verwaltungsbezirk) in Südungarn. Es grenzt an Serbien (Vojvodina) und Rumänien sowie an die Komitate Bács-Kiskun, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok und Békés. Es hat eine Fläche von 4.263 km² und (2001) 418.574 Einwohner. Der Komitatssitz ist Szeged, andere wichtige Städte sind Csongrád, Szentes, Hódmezővásárhely und Makó.

Geographie
Die Gegend ist Teil der Großen Ungarischen Tiefebene und wird von der Theiß durchflossen, in die der Maros mündet. Westlich der Theiß befinden sich zahlreiche Sümpfe.
Ein kleines Gebiet von 217 km² (südlich der Marosch und östlich der Theiß) gehörte zur historischen Region Banat
