WordGame

The English word games are:
○   Anagrams
○   Wildcard, crossword
○   Lettris
○   Boggle.

Lettris

Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

boggle

Boggle gives you 3 minutes to find as many words (3 letters or more) as you can in a grid of 16 letters. You can also try the grid of 16 letters. Letters must be adjacent and longer words score better. See if you can get into the grid Hall of Fame !

Rance

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rance is a series of Japan-exclusive eroge computer role-playing games by Alice Soft featuring the title character, Rance. Starting in 1989, the series has lasted for 17 years, making it one of the longest running adult themed games ever.[1]

The name Rance is likely an Engrish misspelling of 'Lance'.[2] This is particularly likely due to a lance being visible in the logo for the first two games.

Rance

Rance: Hikari o Motomete (Rance -光をもとめて-?) was Alice Soft's debut title[3] and was first released on July, 1989 for the MSX. It was also later released in 1990 for Windows 3.x.

Rance II

Rance II: Hangyaku no Shōjotachi (Rance II -反逆の少女たち-?)

Rance III

Rance III: Riizasu Kanraku (Rance III -リーザス陥落-?)

Rance IV

Rance IV: Chōdan no Isan (Rance IV -教団の遺産-?)

Rance 4.1

Rance 4.1: Ogusuri Kōba o Sukue! (ランス4.1 ~お薬工場を救え!~?)

Rance 4.2

Rance 4.2: Angel Kumi (ランス4.2 ~エンジェル組~?)

Kichikuō Rance

Kichikuō Rance (鬼畜王ランス?) - an "IF" story not part of the official timeline.

Rance 5D

Rance 5D: Hitori Bocchi no Onna no Ko (Rance5D -ひとりぼっちの女の子-?)

Rance VI

Rance VI: Zezu Hōkai (Rance VI -ゼス崩壊-? lit. Rance VI - Collapse of Zeth -) was released on August 27, 2004. It features new (relative to the Alice Soft's games) 3D graphics for exploring dungeons.

Sengoku Rance

Sengoku Rance (戦国ランス? lit. Warring States Rance) is the latest game in the series and was released on December 15, 2006. While it is the first game to not have a number in the title, the katakana 'ス' is made to strongly resemble a '7'. This game takes place in a land known as "JAPAN" (spelled that way in Japanese using full-byte English letters), which is partially modeled on medival Japan. It is especially interesting because two of the characters in the game, Ogawa Kentarō and Raisui Miki, actually came from the Japan (日本) in the real world.

Notes and references

  1. ^ However, it is not the longest. For instance, the Leisure Suit Larry series has been around since Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards released in 1987.
  2. ^ The L sound does not exist in the Japanese language. The closest sound to it is an alveolar lateral flap, which is romanized as R. This makes for the common mistake of the Japanese misspelling Ls as Rs.
