The TEE Center, short for Trade, Exhibition, and Events Center, is a proposed convention center in Augusta, Georgia recently approved for construction by the Augusta Commission. It is part of the Downtown Augusta Redevelopment Plan. Construction is expected to start in the Spring of 2010. The complex will be over 200,000 square feet (19,000 m2) when it opens. The facility will have 40,000 square feet of exhibit-hall space, which could hold 195 10-by-10-foot booths, seat 3,500 people as a theater or feed 1,800 as a banquet hall. The building design also includes a ballroom, a kitchen, a loading dock and storage space. It will be built on the property next to the Marriott hotel and a few blocks from the Augusta Botanical Gardens. A 400 space parking garage will be built across the street from the center. The cost of the center is estimated at $40 million.
