The English word games are:

Lettris

Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

boggle

Boggle gives you 3 minutes to find as many words (3 letters or more) as you can in a grid of 16 letters. You can also try the grid of 16 letters. Letters must be adjacent and longer words score better. See if you can get into the grid Hall of Fame !

W-VHSは、HD,SD(SDTV:Standard Definition Television、標準画質テレビ)記録が可能なVHS規格をベースとして策定された上位の民生用ビデオ規格である。

VHS規格シリーズの特徴に上位互換性が保証されていることがある。このためW-VHSはVHS・S-VHSなどのテープの再生・録画が可能となり、過去のライブラリーが有効活用できる利点がある。W-VHSテープに記録されたHD・SD映像は通常のVHS・S-VHS・D-VHSデッキでは正常に再生できないばかりか、カセット構造が異なるため、VHS・S-VHS・D-VHSデッキに無理に挿入すると故障の原因となる。

W-VHSは記録の方式やシステムについてはVHS方式を基本にしているが、テープではより高出力を求めメタルテープを採用。カートリッジも防塵タイプにした。また記録モードはハイビジョン記録が可能なHD、通常放送記録用のSD、および通常放送の2チャンネル同時録画が可能なSD2がある。またMUSEアナログハイビジョン放送（BS-9チャンネル）を録画するときにはMUSE方式で圧縮されたハイビジョン信号を復調するMUSEデコーダーが必要となるので、ビデオ単体ではハイビジョン録画はできない。テープの記録方式はMUSEではなく、ベースバンド方式なので、ハイビジョンテレビに接続するだけで再生が可能である。

当初、今後はハイビジョンが主流になるとも言われていたが、当初のアナログ方式のハイビジョン放送受信方式は普及しなかったことから、民生用デッキは日本ビクターが2機種（HR-W1, HR-W5、いずれもSD2未対応）出しただけで終わった（松下、日立よりOEM製品も発売された）。また2007年にはMUSEアナログハイビジョン放送(BS-9チャンネル)が打ち切られる予定でもあるため、W-VHS方式は役目をほぼ終えたと言えるが、別途BSデジタル放送・地上デジタル放送対応テレビやチューナ、CATV用デジタル放送対応セットトップボックス等を接続すれば、DVDレコーダーなどより高画質（ハイビジョン画質）で記録・再生することが可能である。また、W-VHS専用テープは現在でも日本ビクターが製造・販売しており、放送局や制作プロダクションなどによっては、W-VHSが機材のひとつとして現役で活用されている場合もある。
