Authorization for Expenditure
An AFE, also known as an Authorization for Expenditure , is the process by which an organization submits a proposal for a project's budget to investors for their approval. Typically, when goods or services are purchased  in connection with the identified project, suppliers will provide reference to the AFE number on delivery receipts and invoices so to the purchaser can easily monitor the costs and compare these to the budget .
