L'Académie dit que ce mot vieillit ; les exemples ci-dessus prouvent qu'il n'en est rien ; et ce mot reste très bon en poésie et dans la prose élevée.
SYNONYME
1. DISCORD, DISCORDE., Le discord est le contraire de l'accord ; la discorde est le contraire de la concorde. Discorde dit donc plus et autre chose que discord ; car être en accord ne veut pas dire être en concorde.
2. DISCORD, DÉSACCORD., Le désaccord est la perte, la cessation de l'accord. Le discord n'implique pas que l'accord ait régné antécédemment. D'ailleurs discord est un mot du style poétique, et désaccord est de tous les styles.
