Lettris
Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

ÉTYMOLOGIE
Bourguign. laneyre. D'après Scheler, il vient de lanarius, qui est fait de laine, de lana, laine. Mais ne pourrait-on pas y voir le sens d'un lambeau de cuir, et le rattacher, comme lanier, dont il a tout à fait la forme, au latin laniare, déchirer ?
SUPPLÉMENT AU DICTIONNAIRE
LANIÈRE. - ÉTYM. M. Bugge, Romania, n° 10, p. 154, tire lanière non du lat. laniare, comme j'ai fait, mais du latin lacinia, lambeau, par un intermédiaire laciniaria. Pour rejeter laniare, il objecte que le suffixe y fait obstacle ; mais c'est une erreur ; car on a, dans la latinité, laniarium, boucherie, qui vient de laniare. Une meilleure raison qu'il allègue, c'est que lanière est constamment écrit, dans les anciens textes, lasniere. Je remarque que lanier (faucon lanier) est toujours écrit sans s, et vient ou de laniare ou de lana.
