Lettris
Lettris is a curious tetris-clone game where all the bricks have the same square shape but different content. Each square carries a letter. To make squares disappear and save space for other squares you have to assemble English words (left, right, up, down) from the falling squares.

ÉTYMOLOGIE
Mat 1 ; provenç. matar ; ital. mattare. Ce verbe vient de mat des échecs, comme l'emploi le prouve dans l'historique ; mais à côté de ce mater et se confondant avec lui, il y avait un autre mater, signifiant tuer, parallèle à l'espagnol matar, et venant du latin mactare : XIe s.— Se truis [si je trouve] Rolant, ne lerrai que [je] nel mat (Ch. de Rol. LXIX)XIIe s.— Jo ki sui tis serfs, m'i cumbaterai, e od l'aïe Deu [l'aide de Dieu] le materai (Rois, p. 65)
MATER (v. a.)
1. Rendre mat. Mater du verre.
2. Rendre mat, compacte. Mater une pâte.
3. Terme de peintre en bâtiment (on écrit aussi matter). Passer avec le pinceau une couche de colle mêlée de safran ou de vermeil sur les parties d'or qui n'ont pas été brunies.
4. Serrer avec le matoir la soudure de deux tuyaux de fontaine (on écrit aussi matter).
